The Colombian Phoenix delegation, which represented the country in the International Youth Robotics Competition (IYRC), a global robotics tournament where more than 2000 students from 30 countries participated, was awarded the 3rd place for first time in the Push-Push (Sumo) category. This tournament was held in Daejeon, South Korea, from August 1st to 3rd, 2019. This victory was possible thanks to the discipline and effort of 32 students from public and private schools in Medellín, Bello, Envigado, La Estrella and Sabaneta. All of them participated with their robots in different categories, having an outstanding performance in Item Recycle, Push-Push and Volleyball. Likewise, the Montessori’s school robotics team, had an excellent performance in the Sumo category, obtaining a position in the top 16 in this competition.
